A career change, on the face of it at least, can appear to be a very scary thing to do. Most of us work hard in school and at university to get that career, then we work hard within it to become the best that we can be, and for many of us, we don’t know anything else.

Eventually however, people do begin get itchy feet and wonder what else is out there for them, and that is why we see so many people take on short courses, as a way to dip their toe in the water, and see what other skills they may be good at. There are so many career courses which you could take and here are a few which just may inspire you. 

Florist Course

If you have a particular passion for all things floral then perhaps you may be able to take on a course which will teach you all about the inner workings of the flower world, learning all about flower types, seasons and care, as well as how to put together the most incredible bouquets. Taking on a florist course will give you all of the skills you need in order to work in a flower shop or better yet, to open up your very own. 

Financial Advice 

For anyone who is currently working in the world of finance who doesn’t want to step away from the industry completely, becoming a financial advisor is a well-trodden path which you may follow down. Most financial advisors come to the position later on in their career and a short course is all you will need to then go on to become an independent financial advisor. In doing this you can use your existing knowledge of finance and add some new skills to it as well. 

Business Course

So many people spend their careers considering what type of business they would love to own but the large majority of them will never realize that dream. Some believe that they don’t have the money, others simply don’t think that they would do very well. The thing is that you have no idea how well you will do until you give it a go, so taking on a business course is the perfect way to give yourself a foundation from which to build from.  

Teaching Course 

Being a teacher is an incredibly rewarding career where you will be working every day to shape the minds of young people. Most teachers only require 1 year of training before they are placed in a school and if you have dedicated your career to a particular craft then you will be able to share that with the world. Teaching isn’t always something which younger people wish to do, but as you get older there is more of a desire to share what you know, and you can do exactly that. 

It is never too late to change what you are doing, and switch careers entirely.
