This post includes links related to AI image and video generation, analytics, elearning distribution, neurodivergence, accessibility, training development time, stock videos, and web development.

I recently switched to Raindrop as my bookmarking tool. To create these posts, I need a bookmarking tool that works on multiple devices, allows me to highlight passages, and exports specific posts so I can share them here on my blog. Raindrop’s export is actually easier for these curation posts than my previous tool (Diigo), and I’ve been very happy so far. AI Art: What Should Fair Compensation Look Like?

Intellectual property is one of the big ethical questions with generating AI images. This article considers conditions for compensating artists for AI images based on specific artists’ style and work.

In their research, to see if compensating artists for AI creations was a viable option, the coauthors wanted to see if three basic conditions were met:

– Are artists’ names frequently used in generative AI prompts?
– Do consumers prefer the results of prompts that cite artists’ names?
– Are consumers willing to pay more for an AI-generated product that was created citing some artists’ names?

Crunching the data, they found the same answer to all three questions: yes.

Multiple image generation and editing tools powered by AI. Upscaling, background removing, face blurring (automatically detecting all the faces in a crowd and blurring them all for privacy), inpainting, image comparison. This site has some basic image editing tools like cropping, rotating, and compressing as well. The basic plan is free, with paid plans for credits for more advanced tools.

Image to video creation tool. This might be interesting to experiment with for scenarios. It’s possible to create a character image in Midjourney, and then turn it into a video with this tool. This is probably going to work best with talking head videos, at least right now. h/t Josh Cavalier

Rory Flynn’s guide to prompting for photorealistic images in Midjourney. Part of the challenge in prompting is that many of us don’t know the specific vocabulary to describe aspects of images we want. We may not know examples of cameras or photo effects. Training development time

Want to Speed Up Training Development Time?

Robyn Defelice’s 2023 update of the ATD research on the time required to create training. There are some numbers here, but use caution in benchmarking from these stats. They aren’t really designed to be benchmarks, partly because the data isn’t standardized to seat time. Robyn suggests (and I agree) that you’re better off tracking your own time in your organization and using internal benchmarks that account for your variables.

The largest conclusion we can draw comfortably from the data is that development time still varies considerably for each type of learning product—and no matter what, the variables of the training development for each organization greatly differ. We do not advise that you use the results as stand-alone pieces for calculating project estimates because context is necessary to understand respondents’ situations.

Collection of stock videos, music, and sound effects. Some are available with a free CC-By or attribution required license; other premium assets are only available for purchase. This would be a good source to check for B-roll footage or free videos for portfolio samples.
