“Stay.”  It’s the four letter word I hate to hear when I have to leave home to go to work.

“But mom, I need help with my homework,” says my nine year old.

“But who’s going to be my mommy at home,” says my two year old.

Stay…breaks my heart.

I can’t stay.  I have to go.  It’s my duty, my responsibility, my necessary evil.

But, the time away pays the bills, refreshes me, makes you two closer, and gives daddy time to be daddy.

It makes the kisses sweeter, the hugs tighter, and the love stronger.

So, for now I can’t stay, but I promise I will be back.
